1. The service
distances.online is a free online calculator that estimates straight-line distances, flight times, road distances and driving times between places you choose. No account is needed and no payment is requested. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.
2. Results are estimates
All figures shown by the site are approximations intended for planning and general information. Straight-line distances are computed from coordinates with a spherical Earth model; flight times assume a typical cruising speed and ignore wind, air-traffic routing and airport procedures; road distances and times come from third-party routing engines and ignore live traffic, weather, closures and stops; place search may match a location with the same name in a different region.
You must not rely on the site for navigation, aviation, maritime or emergency use, fuel or range calculations, legal, tax, insurance or billing purposes, or any decision where an error could cause harm or loss. Always verify important figures with an authoritative source.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the site only through a normal web browser, as an individual, for lawful purposes. In particular you agree not to:
- send automated, scripted or bulk requests to the site or to the third-party map, geocoding and routing services it uses, which operate under their own usage limits;
- scrape, copy or republish substantial parts of the site or its generated pages;
- interfere with the site's operation, security or availability, or attempt to bypass any technical limit;
- use the site in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
We may block access from any client that breaches these rules.
4. Third-party services and links
The site relies on external services for place search, routing and map tiles, and may link to external websites. Those services and sites belong to third parties, have their own terms and privacy policies, and are outside our control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or accuracy.
5. Intellectual property
The site's design, text and code are owned by the site operator unless stated otherwise. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL); map tiles and routing may be provided by OpenStreetMap, LocationIQ or Mapbox under their respective licences. You may share links to the site freely and quote short extracts with attribution.
6. Advertising
The site is supported by advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense and Adsterra. Advertisers are solely responsible for their ads and the products or services they promote. The presence of an ad is not an endorsement by us. How advertising cookies work is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability or freedom from errors.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or any information it displays, including losses caused by inaccurate distances, times or locations.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
